COMMISSIONER REQUEST FOR BOARD APPROVAL FOR PAYMENT TO
ATTEND FUNCTION SERVING A VALID PUBLIC PURPOSE
OBJECTIVE: For the Board of County Commissioners to declare a valid public
purpose for a Commissioner to attend a function/event and approve payment by the
Clerk.
CONSIDERATIONS: Pursuant to Resolution No. 99-410, the Board of County
Commissioners has determined that attendance at the functions of fraternal, business,
environmental, educational, charitable, social, professional, trade, homeowners, ethnic,
and civic association/organizations serves a valid public purpose, provided that said
functions reasonably relate to Collier County matters.
COMMISSIONER: Donna Fiala
FUNCTION/EVENT: Economic Development Council Post-Legislative Luncheon.
PUBLIC PURPOSE: Meet and interact with business and community leaders.
DATE OF FUNCTION/EVENT: May 25, 2011.
FISCAL IMPACT: $15.00 - Funds to be paid from Commissioner's travel budget.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners, in accordance with
Resolution No. 99-410, approve payment by the Clerk for Commissioner Donna Fiala to
attend a function serving a valid public purpose.

The 2011 EDC Post-Legislative Luncheon is scheduled for May 25, 2011 at the Grill
Room at Moorings Park from 11 :30-1 :30. Registration begins at 11 :00.
The EDC's legislative luncheons are designed as a forum at which EDC Investors and
other business and community leaders meet with the Collier County legislative
delegation to recap the 2011 Legislative Session. The program gives attendees the
opportunity to ask the delegation questions regarding passed legislation and its impact
on the region. This is one of the most popular and interactive programs hosted by the
EDC.
