EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to recognize FY 2010/2011 Federal Transit Administration Section 5311
additional revenne in tbe amount of $28,798 to Collier Arca Transit Fund (426) and authorize all
necessary budget amendments.
OBJECTIVE: To recognize FY 2010/20]] Federal Transit Administration Section 53 I] additional
revenue in the amount of $28,798.00 to Collier Area Transit Fund (426) and authorize all necessary
budget amendments to offset operations of the Immokalee Circulator.
CONSIDERATIONS: During the January 29, 2008 BCC meeting, the Board approved Item l6B3; a
Joint Participation Agreement (JPA) with Florida Department of Transportation for a five-year pass.
through FTA Section 53] 1 Grant- JPA Number AOW89. This award is for the provision of public
transportation in Collier County's non-urbanized areas. Collier County uses these funds for the Collier
Area Transit operation of the Immokalee Circulator Route 8A and Route 8B.
On August 27, 2010. the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) sent notification of the County's
compliance with all program requirements, which qualified the agency for receipt of additional allocation
of Section 53] 1 funding for FY 2010/20] I in the amount of $254,584.00. The Board of County
Commissioners accepted those funds on September 28, 20 I O.
On March 22, 201 ], the FDOT sent notification of the additional funding for FY 20] 0/2011 in the amount
of$28,798.00 bringing the total for FY 20] 0/20] 1 to $283,382.00.
FISCAL IMPACT: A budget amendment is required in FY 20] 1 in the amount of $28,798.00 to
recognize revenue in fund 426 project 35063. It should be recognized that the FTA Section 53]] grant
requires a 50% local match each year and this match is budgeted in FY 20] I in the operating
appropriation unit within Collier Area Transit Fund (426).
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been reviewed and approved by the County Attorney's
Office, is legally sufficient for Board action and only requires a majority vote-SRT
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: Consistent with Objectives 10 and] 2 of the Transportation
Element of the Growth Management Plan.
RECOMMENDATION: To approve the budget amendment to recognize additional revenue received
from FT A Section 53 I] AOW89 in the amount of $28,798.00 into Fund 426 Project 35063 for FY
2010/201] and approve the Notification of Additional Funding for execution by the Chairman.
