PROCLAMA TION
WHEREAS, sexual assault continues to be a major social crisis in our society:
and.
WHEREAS, sexual assault affects every child and adult in Collier County as a
victim/survivor or as a famt'ly member, significant other,
neighbor, or co-worker of a victim: and.
WHEREAS, volunteers and service providers in our community are working to
provide a continuum of care to sexual assault survivors through
24-hour hotlines, crisis counseling, support groups, advocacy,
Forensic Collection exams, and education: and,
WHEREAS, Project Help, Inc. seeks to improve services for victim/survivors
of sexual assault and prevent future sexual assault through public
awareness and services for victims.
NOW THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of
Collier County, Florida, that Aprt'l, 2011 be designated as
SEXUAL ASSAULT AWARENESS MONTH
