Recommend approval of the use of Confiscated Trust Funds to Florida Sheriffs Youth
Ranches, Inc. and budget amendment for $1,000.00 to prevent delinquency and develop
strong, lawful, resilient and productive citizens.
OBJECTIVE: To seek appropnatlOn from the Confiscated Trust Fund of $1,000.00 to prevent
delinquency and develop strong, lawful, resilient and productive citizens.
CONSIDERATION: The Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches, Inc. by virtue of Section 932.7055 (5) (c) 1
Florida Statutes is seeking Board authorization for the appropri ation of funds to prevent delinquency and
develop strong, lawful, resilient and productive citizens. The Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches, Inc. has
applied to the Sheriff for appropriation. The CCSO requests Board approval to appropriate $1,000.00 to
support the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches, Inc.
Some of the purposes of the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches, Inc. are:
a. Focus on building healthy, work-related skills and ethics in our boys and girls while helping them
become productive, law-abiding members of our communities.
b. Provide clinical social services to children and families by trained counselors.
c. Nurture needy, neglected boys and girls, and provide a warm sense of security, guidance, and
tenderness.
The CCSO requests $1,000.00 from the Confiscated Trust Fund to be used to support their purposes.
FISCAL IMPACT: A budget amendment is needed to appropriate a remittance for the Florida Sheriffs
Youth Ranches, Inc. of $1,000.00 and to reduce the Confiscated Trust Fund Reserve for Contingencies.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT: No recurring costs for subsequent years.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners approves the budget amendment
and remittance to Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches, Inc. for the use of funds to prevent delinquency and
develop strong, lawful, re;"Fnt and p.r~l;f citizens. .

Dear Sheriff Rambosk:
I would like to request $1,000 for the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches
from Collier County Law Enforcement Trust Funds. Over the past few years,
the Youth Ranches has experienced a decrease in charitable gifts and closed
five cottages in the spring of 2010.
The Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches was founded by the Florida Sheriffs
Youth Ranches in 1957 and has served over 115,000 at-risk children that call
Florida home. The Youth Ranches mission is to prevent delinquency and
develop strong, lawful, resilient and productive citizens who will make a
positive contribution to our communities for years to come.
The Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches is recognized as a charity as
indicated under section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
Reopening the five cottages will change the lives of 50 more children.
We look forward to helping each one of them meet their personal goals and
become lawful, productive citizens.
