EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to reject responses to Bid No. 11-5613lmmokalee South Park
" New Community Center" Project
OBJECTIVE: To reject offers received that were outside the approved budget.
CONSIDERATIONS: The estimated construction cost of the project is $750,000 to build
the 4,200 sJ. Immoklaee South Park community building. The contractor's bids were all
excessive from the estimated construction cost.
Bid 11-5613 was posted on November 18, 2010 with 1095 notices sent to vendor who
provide these services. This bid was due on January 21,2011 with 9 bids received.
The bid tabulation is attached and the list of bidders submitting proposals were:

Staff recommends that the Board reject the bids and allow staff and consultant to review
all options and significant items to possibly scale back and modify the scope of work.
Staff recommends reformatting the bid invitation and re-issuing the solicitation.
FISCAL IMPACT: The Immoklaee South Park Project 80085 has a budget (for all
costs) of $1 ,053,167.88 in the Parks Impact Fee Fund 346.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no growth management impact
associated with this Executive Summary.
LEGAL CONSIDERATION: This item has been reviewed by the County Attorney's
Office, requires majority vote, and is legally sufficient for Board action. - CMG
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners reject Bid NO.11-5613.
