Please explain In detail the reason YOU are requesting to speak (attach additional page if neces~ry'f On January 28, 20111 contacted Domestic Animal Services via telephone to report two dogs that were running loose in my neighborhood and terrorizing my dogs who are secured in my fenced yard. I received no further response from them, On Monday, February 7, 20111 came home from work and didn't see my blood hound. Later in the afternoon a call from my grandson told me that a friend had seen the German Shepard dragging a dog from in front of my house and that a black and white dog was also present. I ran outside, saw the German Shepard and Pit Bull in the pasture just south of my house. Walking out to my fence I saw my dog dead, just outside my fence. The other two dogs then ran out of the pasture north past my house. Cleatus Earl, my dog, would have been a year old four days after his death. He was a gift from my son and his family for my birthday last year. This could have been avoided had DAS responded to my first call, Additionally, I really do not understand why there are no DAS representatives in the Immokalee area. The land mass Is very large in our area, and I don't see how the County cannot have a representative on staff full time. Incidents such as what I have just experienced need immediate attention and waiting for someone to respond for over two hours is unacceptable. Please explain in detail the action you are asking the Commission to take (attach additional pa~E! if necessary). I am respectfully requesting the County re-evaluate the current procedures in place for DAS and the Immokalee Area, Immokalee needs representation on a more consistent basis and this situation needs to be addressed urgently.
