EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to accept the report on the Information Technology Equipment on-line auction
held October 5, 2010 and the Fleet vehicle / equipment on-line auction held November 16,2010,
resulting in gross revenues of $23,312.50.
OBJECTIVE: To present the results of two recent Collier County surplus on-line auctions and
obtain Board approval for the disbursement of enterprise funds as recommended herein.
CONSIDERATIONS: On October 26,2010 (Item 16E9), the Board of County Commissioners
authorized staff to conduct an on-line auction for the purpose of disposing of County-owned
property and generating revenue for the County.
Collier County is currently under contract with a full service auctioneer, Atkinson Realty &
Auction, Inc. to conduct on-site and on-line sales on behalf of the County. This sale was
conducted in compliance with Section 274.06, Florida Statutes.
On October 15, 2010 an on-line auction was conducted to dispose of four (4) HP computers.
This resulted in total gross sales of $500. On November 16, 2010 a similar on-line auction was
conducted for the disposal of Fleet vehicle / equipment two (2) Ford vehicles; three (3) transit
buses and three (3) mowers. This sale resulted in total gross sales of$22,812.50
Commissions to the auctioneer for both on-line sales totaled $4,662.50, resulting in total net
revenue to the County of $18,650.
FISCAL IMPACT: The auctioneer's commission was paid from the auction gross revenue; net
sale revenues were returned to the special revenue fund that paid for the acquisition ofthe asset.
Staff has allocated the net revenue from the sales as follows:

this Executive Summary.
LEGAL CONSIDERATION: This item has been reviewed by the County Attorney's Office,
