EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
. This is a recommendation to have the Board of County Commissioners approve a
temporary construction access into Lely Resort from Rattlesnake Hammock Road.
OBJECTIVE:
To have the Board of County Commissioners approve a temporary construction access for Lely
Resort and to authorize the County Manager or his designee to work with the property owner
through the Right-of-Way (ROW) permitting process to ensure compliance with the applicable
County regulations.
CONSIDERATIONS:
The developer of Le!y Resort is developing the Northwest quadrant of the property and currently
hauls fill and provides construction access using the existing approved driveway off of Grand
Lely Drive. Due to the excessive dust and noise, the community has requested that the
developer pursue a temporary alternative construction access. The developer has met with staff
and the district commissioner and has agreed to seek a temporary access on Rattlesnake
Hammock Road. A Right-of-Way permit will address any impacts which the construction traffic
might have on public roadways. Details of the closure and restoration shall be placed in the
ROW permit as conditions. A conceptual plan is attached for reference.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS:
This item requires a majority vote. This item is ready for Board consideration and approval.
