Appointment ofmember(s) to Ochopee Fire Control District Advisory Board
OBJECTIVE: To appoint 1 member to serve a term expiring on December 31, 2012 on the
Ochopee Fire Control District Advisory Board.
CONSIDERATIONS: The Ochopee Fire Control District Advisory Committee has 1 term
that expired on December 31, 2010, representing the Choko10skee area. This 5 member
committee advises the Board on the budget and operation of the Ochopee Fire Control District.
Members should reside within the taxing district. The Board should note that the applicant does
not reside in the category area, Chokoloskee, but lives in the taxing district. The Ochopee Fire
Control District Advisory Board took the category requirement into consideration, with the
difficulties in obtaining qualified candidates voted to proceed with the recommendation. The
Board approved this waiver when it appointed the candidate to fulfill the remainder of the term
now expiring. Full terms are 2 years. A list of the current membership is included in the backup.
The term of Ronald Gilmer Gilbert expired December 31, 2010. A press release was issued and
a resume was received from the following interested citizen:
