PROCLAMA TION
WHEREAS, the r' Annual WINK News Feeds Families Hunger Walk wI'll
be on Saturday, January 22, 2011; and,
WHEREAS, on that day, residents of Southwest Florida wI'll walk to
show support of the Harry Chapin Food Bank and their
mission to overcome hunger in Southwest Florida,' and,
WHEREAS, the emergency fund programs served by the Harry Chapin
Food Bank serve more than 30,000 people each month in
Southwest Florida; and,
WHEREAS, the funds raised through the Hunger Walk will be used to
help provide food for 174 partner agencies, 27 of which are
located n Collier County,- and,
WHEREAS, the goal is to raise $167,000 that will provide $1,000.,000
worth of food to our area to feed people in need.
NOW THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County
Commissioners of Collier County, Florida, that January 22,
2011 be designated as
WINK NEWS FEEDS FAMILIES
HUNGER WALK DAY IN COLLIER COUNTY
and urges our citizens to participate in this worthy cause.
