EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to authorize a budget amendment in the amount of $22,509.47 and recognize
revenue generated from case management and case aid from the Medicaid Waiver program.
OBJECTIVE: To recognize revenue generated from the Medicaid Waiver program to continue case
management services provided by Collier County.
CONSIDERATIONS: The Medicaid Waiver program includes an agreement between Collier County
and the Area Agency for Aging of Southwest Florida (AAA) dba Senior Choices of Southwest Florida to
accept referrals for case management and case aid. This program enables elderly participants to receive
case management services from qualified providers with the oversight of the quality of care by the
Medicaid Waiver Specialist employed by AAA. These services are authorized in order for participants to
remain independent and avoid premature nursing home placement.
Collier County bills for case management services and collects funds directly from Medicaid. This
.program has collected $22,509.47 in revenue for the period of 4/20/11 through 10/5/12. These funds will
be used to pay for additional case management and related expenses for this program.
FISCAL IMPACT: A budget amendment is required to recognize revenue in the amount of $22,509.47
swept into Fund 123 Carry Forward at the end of FY 12.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item is legally sufficient and requires a majority vote for Board
action. - JBW
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no growth management impact from this
recommendation.
RECOMMENDATION: To authorize a budget amendment in the amount of $22,509.47 to recognize
Carry Forward revenue.
