EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to recognize Hailey Alonso, Operations Analyst, Public Services Division, as the
Employee of the Month for October 2012.
OBJECTIVE: The purpose of the Employee of the Month program is to recognize the efforts
and accomplishments of employees who have made significant contributions to the organization
or to our community.
CONSIDERATIONS: Hailey Alonso, Operations Analyst, has been nominated as the "Employee
of the Month" for October 2012. Hailey, an employee of the County for over six years, works in
the Administration office of the Public Services Division.
Hailey started with the County in 2006 as an Administrative Assistant in the Domestic Animal
Services Department. In 2010, she was promoted to her current position, where she provides
professional and technical support to the Public Services Division. In addition to her normal
responsibilities, Hailey takes on numerous projects and initiatives. Most recently, she was
appointed to be the chair of the Collier County Government team, also known as Team Collier,
for the 2012 United Way Walk. As the chair Hailey coordinated with multiple representatives
from each division, and as well as representatives from the Constitutional offices, to come up
with new ways to raise funds and to increase the number of employees signed up for the walk.
Through innovative ideas, like the Dunk Your Boss event, and from sales of the new Team
Collier t- shirt, the County raised almost $5600 for the United Way and signed up over 260
people to participate. The Walk for the Way was held on September 29, 2012 at the North
Collier Regional Park where Team Collier was awarded with Certificates of Appreciation for
having the "Largest Community Walk Team" and for the "Most Funds Raised by a Community
Walk Team." Without Hailey's leadership, organizational abilities, and motivation these
achievements would not have been possible.
Hailey's enthusiasm and efforts make her an asset to the County and to the community. She is
truly deserving of this award.
FISCAL IMPACT: The selected "Employee of the Month" receives a $150.00 cash award.
Funds are available in the employee's Budget Cost Center.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no growth management impact associated with
this Executive Summary.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners approves the recognition of
Hailey Alonso as "Employee of the Month" for October 2012.
