EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to approve and authorize the Chairman to sign, an Interlocal Agreement with
Everglades City in order to provide funding assistance in the amount of $5,000 to Everglades City
for improvements to the McLeod Community Park.
OBJECTIVE: To execute an Interlocal Agreement with Everglades City in order to provide funding for
McLeod Community Park improvements.
CONSIDERATIONS: The McLeod Park in Everglades City has a small playground that requires
additional safety surfacing under and around the established playground amenities. This surfacing is
accomplished through the addition of engineered wood chips that will provide adequate drainage and
cushioning.
Everglades City is a municipality within Collier County that does not have a Parks and Recreation
Department; therefore, on September 20, 2012, the Board of County Commissioners approved funds in
the FY 13 budget for the Parks and Recreation Department to assist Everglades City with the necessary
improvements at the McLeod Community Park.
FISCAL IMPACT: The County will be responsible for recording this Agreement at its sole cost in an
approximate amount of $20.00. Funding in the amount of $5,000 is available in the Everglades Park
project 80227 in the Parks and Recreation Capital Improvement Fund 306.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been reviewed by the County Attorney's Office, is legally
sufficient, and requires a majority vote. - ERP
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no Growth Management impact associated with this
item.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners approves and authorizes the
Chairman to sign an Interlocal Agreement with Everglades City in order to provide funding for
improvements to the McLeod Community Park.

INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN
COLLIER COUNTY AND THE CITY OF EVERGLADES CITY
Everglades City Recreation Improvements Fund Sharing
THIS INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT, is entered into by and between Collier
County, a political subdivision of the State of Florida (hereinafter referred to as the
"County"); and the City of Everglades City, Florida (hereinafter referred to as the "City");
RECITALS:
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners for Collier County has
approved five thousand dollars ($5,000) in funding assistance to the City for
improvements to McLeod Community Park; and
WHEREAS, this funding was approved in the Fiscal Year 2013 budget for
Collier County; and
WHEREAS, the improvements to the McLeod Community Park include
mulching for the park facilities.
NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the covenants contained herein, the
County and the City hereby agrees as follows:
Section 1. The County shall pay five thousand dollars ($5,000) toward the cost of
the improvements to the McLeod Community Park, payable as a reimbursement and upon
a showing that the City incurred such costs on the park improvements.
Section 2. This Agreement may be signed in counterparts by the parties hereto.
This Agreement shall take effect on the last day of execution by the last party to execute
same.
Section 3. This Agreement shall be recorded by the County in the Official
Records of Collier County within thirty (30) days after this Agreement is fully executed.
