EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to approve the shortlist of engineering firms for Request for Proposal (RFP) 12-
5863 Construction Engineering Inspection (CEI) for the Immokalee Downtown Stormwater
Improvements Project and to authorize staff to enter into negotiations with the top ranked firm.
OBJECTIVE: To obtain professional CEI services related to the Immokalee CRA Downtown
Stormwater Improvements Project by approving the Selection Committee's shortlist of
engineering firms and authorizing staff to begin negotiations with the top ranked firm.
CONSIDERATIONS: On May 10, 2012, the Collier County Purchasing Department issued
RFP No. 12 -5863 for CEI for the Immokalee Downtown Stormwater Improvements Project, on behalf
of the Immokalee CRA, through its on -line bidding system. The RFP solicited CEI services
related to the stormwater drainage improvement project in the Downtown Immokalee area,
which was approved on January 24, 2012 (Agenda Item 13B2).
Approximately 1,000 email notifications were
solicitation packages. Four (4) responses to
deadline. The Selection Committee met on June

The CRA obtained funding for the CEI services through a grant from the Florida Department of
Economic Opportunity. The CEI firm selected will be tasked with insuring that the construction
project is completed per engineering specifications and will support the CRA with grant
compliance.
FISCAL IMPACT: The funding for each work order assigned under this CEI contract will
come from CRA Grant Fund 715, Project 33130 specifically grant Agreement #IODB- D4- 09 -21-
01 -K09 as amended by the BCC on January 24, 2012, Item #16D2.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no Growth Management Impact resulting
from this action.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been reviewed and approved by the County
Attorney's Office, is legally suffic °nt for Board action and only requires a majority vote for
approval —SRT.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners, acting in its capacity as the
Collier County Community Redevelopment Agency - Immokalee, approve the shortlist for RFP
No. 12-5863, Construction Engineering Inspection (CEI) Services for the Immokalee Downtown
Stormwater Improvements Project, and authorize staff to negotiate a contract to bring back for
the Board's approval.
