EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to approve and authorize the Chairman to execute the attached Resolution
authorizing execution of Joint Participation Agreement Contract No. G0V81 with the Florida
Department of Transportation for $51,045 for the purchase of a new refueling truck at the
Immokalee Regional Airport. (Fiscal Impact: $51,045 FDOT, $64,955 County).
OBJECTIVE: To accept grant funding in the amount of $51,045 to purchase a new Avgas refueling
truck for the Immokalee Regional Airport (IMM).
CONSIDERATIONS: The Airport Authority has received a grant offer from FDOT under the Joint
Airport Capital Improvement Program (JACIP) in the amount of $51,045 for a new refueling truck at
IMM.
The Immokalee Airport serves a broad range of customers that ut ilize 100 LL Avgas. In addition to the
based customers that utilize Avgas, numerous student pilots, that require full-service fueling often fly into
the airport. If a refueling vehicle is not available when several student pilots arrive, airport staff must
move each individual aircraft to and from the fuel pump. Not only is this labor- intensive activity
inefficient, it exposes the airport to increased liability as each aircraft is repositioned for fueling.
The airport currently possesses an aging Avgas refueling truck (approximately twenty-four years old),
which is essential airport operations, generating over $300,000 in annual fuel sales. Costly maintenance
and repairs and downtime associated with this truck are detrimental to airport revenue generation and
customer service.
These funds will enable the Airport Authority to purchase a new Avgas refueling truck to provide more
efficient and reliable service with this industry standard mobile refueling amenity.
The total estimated cost of a new refueling truck is $116,000. The FDOT JPA award is for $51,045. The
local match of $64,955 is available in Fund 495.

FISCAL IMPACT: Total estimated cost the project is $116,000. A budget amendment is necessary to
recognize FDOT grant revenue in the amount of $51,045 within Airport Grant Fund (498), Project 33565.
A budget amendment is necessary to appropriate local match in the amount of $64,955 within Airport
Grant Match Fund (499), Project 33565 via a transfer from Airport Fund (495).
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no growth management impact associated with this

LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item is approved for form and legality and requires a majority vote
for Board action. - JAB
