EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to approve a budget amendment in the amount of $19,756 and recognize revenue
generated from case management and case aid from the Medicaid Waiver program.
OBJECTIVE: To recognize revenue generated from the Medicaid Waiver program and record the
related budget amendment.
CONSIDERATIONS: The Medicaid Waiver program includes an agreement between Collier County
and the Area Agency for Aging of Southwest Florida (AAA) dba Senior Choices of Southwest Florida to
accept referrals for case management and case aid. This program enables elderly participants to receive
case management services from qualified providers with the oversight of the quality of care by the
Medicaid Waiver Specialist employed by AAA: These services are authorized in order for participants to
remain independent and avoid premature nursing home placement.
Collier County bills for case management services and collects funds directly from Medicaid. This
program has collected $19,756 in revenue for the period of 10/l/11 through 4/19/12. These funds will be
used to pay for additional case management and related expenses for this program.
FISCAL IMPACT: A budget amendment is required to recognize revenue in FY12 in the amount of
$19,756 to Fund 123 Services for Seniors, Project #44646.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: No legal issues are raised by this item which requires a majority vote
for Board action. - JBW
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no. growth management impact from this
recommendation.
RECOMMENDATION: To approve a budget amendment in the amount of $19,756 to recognize
revenue that has been received.
