EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to accept a donation from the Collier County 4 -H Association and approve a
University Extension Trust Fund budget amendment in the amount of $9,286.28 recognizing
revenue and appropriating expenditures for the 4 -H Outreach Programs managed by the Collier
County University of Florida/IFAS Extension Department.
OBJECTIVE: To recognize donation revenue and appropriate expenditures in the University
Extension Trust Fund in the amount of $9,286.28.
CONSIDERATIONS: The Collier County University Extension Department is a federal, state,
and County partnership dedicated to developing knowledge in agriculture, human and natural
resources, and the life sciences, and enhancing and sustaining the quality of human life by
making that information accessible.
Collier County has partnered with the Collier County 4 -H Clubs Foundation, Inc. for the past 11
years. During FY 2011 - 2012 the 4 -H Clubs Foundation, Inc. was dissolved and financial
support ended. Program plans and activities were on -going with the 4 -H participants and the
University Extension Trust Fund was utilized for these expenditures.
The Collier County 4 -H Association was founded to assist in funding the programs within the
Collier County University Extension 4 -H Youth Development Program and has provided
reimbursement by donation to the University Extension Trust Fund in the amount of $9,286.28.
The 4 -H Association has begun direct payment for program expenditures and will continue to do
so for the foreseeable future.
FISCAL IMPACT: The Collier County University Extension Trust Fund (604) budget will
increase by $9,286.28.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no growth management impact associated with
this request.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been reviewed by the County Attorney's Office and
presents no legal issues. This item requires majority vote. — CMG
