EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to recognize an insurance refund and approve the necessary budget
amendment for the Ochopee Fire Control District in the amount of $2,665.28 for the
purpose of replacing a damaged portable radio.
OBJECTIVE: To recognize an insurance refund and approve a budget amendment in
the amount of $2665.28 for the purpose of replacing a portable radio.
CONSIDERATIONS: On December 27, 2011 one of Ochopee Fire Control District's
portable radios was damaged while responding to a medical emergency. A property
damage report was submitted to Risk Management and a payment was made by the
insurance company in the amount of $2665.28. This radio must be replaced to maintain
proper communications and for personnel safety. Due to the expense of this equipment
the Department has a limited supply so replacement is essential and recognizing these
funds will lessen the budgetary burden of replenishing the portable radio.
FISCAL IMPACT: A budget amendment is needed to recognize $2665.28 from
insurance funds and will be used to replace the portable radio that was damaged on
December 27, 2011. Funds will be placed in the Ochopee Fire Control District Fund
(146).
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no growth management impact
associated with this Executive Summary.
LEGAL CONSIDERATION: This matter raises no legal issues. -JAK
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners recognizes the
insurance refund and approves the necessary budget amendment.
