OBJECTIVE: The purpose of the Employee of the Month program is to recognize the efforts
and accomplishments of employees who made significant contributions to the organization or to
our community.
COSID,,,ONS: Paul Nargi, Building Inspector, has been nominated as the "Employee of
the Months for April 2012. Paul, an employee of the County for almost 13 years, works in the
Building Review and Permitting Department.
As a Building Inspector, Paul is responsible for performing plumbing, mechanical and gas
inspections. In addition to his regular duties, Paul volunteers to help anytime things are needed
in the department. When the Chief Plumbing and Mechanical Inspector is out, he steps up and
assumes many of his duties. Outside of his work responsibilities, Paul is an active member, and
past officer, of the Florida Association of Plumbing, Gas, Mechanical Inspectors. This is non-
profit group of building officials, inspectors and plan reviewers, along with contractors and other
members of the construction industry that meets to provide continuing education, to promote
- - - -- - safe building practices and to benefit our community with charitable services. For the past three
years, they have spo es y oars . es Ashby, a former long4erm - - -- - - -- —
Collier County Building Department employee, passed away in 2009 and this - scholarship was
created in his honor. At the group's recent fund raiser, Paul donated his time, as he has done
many times in the past, and managed the organization of refreshments for the event's 200 plus
attendees. To date this group has provided over $11,000 in scholarship money in Wes Ashby's
name. Paul's contributions have added greatly to their success.

Paul is a dedicated employee of the County and a selfless member of our community. He is
truly deserving of this award.
FISCAL WALT: The selected "Employee of the Month" receives a $150.00 cash award.
Funds are available in the employee's Budget Cost Center.
GROWTH 1N EAZNT 5VACT: There is no growth, management impact associated with
this Executive Summary.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners approves the recognition of
Paul Nargi as "Employee of the Month" for April 2012.
