EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
COMMISSIONER REQUEST FOR BOARD APPROVAL FOR PAYMENT TO
ATTEND FUNCTION SERVING A VALID PUBLIC PURPOSE
OBJECTIVE: For the Board of County Commissioners to declare a valid public
purpose for a Commissioner to attend a function/event and approve payment by the
Clerk.
CONSIDERATIONS: Pursuant to Resolution No. 99 -410, the Board of County
Commissioners has determined that attendance at the functions of fraternal, business,
environmental, educational, charitable, social, professional, trade, homeowners, ethnic,
and civic association/organizations serves a valid public purpose, provided that said
functions reasonably relate to Collier County matters.
COMMISSIONER: Donna Fiala
FUNCTION/EVENT: Naples Press Club Luncheon.
PUBLIC PURPOSE: Meet and interact with business and community leaders.
DATE OF FUNCTION/EVENT: March 22, 2012.
FISCAL IMPACT: $20.00 - Funds to be paid from Commissioner's travel budget.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners, in accordance with
Resolution No. 99 -410, approve payment by the Clerk for Commissioner Donna Fiala to
attend a function serving a valid public purpose.

Myra Janco Daniels to address NPC
She has been called by some the "First Lady of Naples"
for her philanthropic contributions to this community.
This January Myra Janco Daniels retired from the Chairman, President and
CEO positions at the Philharmonic, having founded a Center that has served
as a blue print for joining the arts with an orchestra, museum, youth and
adult chorus, youth orchestra, a museum and education programs for
children and adults.
Needless to say, she has not stopped her involvement with the Naples
Community.
This super active octogenarian describes her fulfilling life in her
autobiography "Secrets of a Rutbuster: Breaking Rules and Selling
Dreams ", recently published by Ruder Finn Press.
