EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to recognize Community Development Block Grant Funds (CDBG) in
the amount of $775,016 for construction of the Immokalee South Park Project and transfer
$775,016 of Fund (346) funds to the Eagle Lakes Community Center Project.
OBJECTIVE: The objectives of this action are to recognize CDBG federal grant revenue for the
Immokalee South Park Project
CONSIDERATIONS: On March 27, 2012, the Board of County Commissioners voted to
approve a substantial amendment to the CDBG action plan providing a transfer of grant funds
from Eagle Lakes Park to Immokalee South Park.
In transferring the CDBG grant funds from the Eagle Lakes Community Center project to the
Immokalee South Park Project, a transfer of the same amount of funds ($775,016) from Fund
346 is requested to be shifted from the Immokalee South Park Project to the Eagle Lakes
Community Center Project. Neither project are adversely effected by these transfers.
FISCAL IMPACT: Budget amendments are necessary to recognize grant revenue to Public
Services Fund (709) Project 80085 in the amount of $775,016. A budget amendment is also
necessary to reallocate local funding within the Community & Regional Park Impact Fee Capital
Fund (346) from the Immokalee South Park Project (80085) to Eagles Lakes Community Center
Project (80184) in the same amount.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This budget amendment does not present any legal issues. A
majority vote is required for approval. — CMG
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: Eagle Lakes Community Park and Immokalee South
Park are both identified in the current community park inventory.
RECOMMENDATION(s): That the Board of County Commissioners authorize the necessary
budget amendments to effect the transfer of funds identified above.
