PROCLAMA TION
WHEREAS, On April 19, 2012, the Conservancy of Southwest Florida celebrates the
ribbon cutting of the Sharon and Dolph von Arx Wildlife Hospital at the
Conservancy of Southwest Florida; and,
WHEREAS, the expanded 5,000-square-foot medical facility allows the Conservancy of
Southwest Florida to treat up to 5, 000 injured, sick and orphaned animals
each year, more than double the previous capacity; and,
WHEREAS, The von Arx Wildlife Hospital is a significant enhancement, enabling the
Conservancy to treat animals in a less stressful environment and increasing
their chances to be released into the wild; and,
WHEREAS, The von Arx Wildlife Hospital also acts as an education center, allowing the
public to tour and learn about rehabilitation without disturbing the wildlife or
their treatments; and,
WHEREAS, we recognize the contributions of Sharon and Dolph von Arx and all the
generous donors who support the Wildlife Hospital and Wildlife Endowment.
NOW THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of Collier
County, Florida, that April 19, 2012 be designated as
SHARON AND DOLPH VON ARX WILDLIFE HOSPITAL DAY.
DONE AND ORDERED THIS 10th Day of April.
