EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to approve a budget amendment recognizing carryforward
earned from previous year's interest and estimated current interest in
Supervisor of Elections grant fund (081). Fiscal impact $146.44.
OBJECTIVE: To obtain the Board of Commissioner's approval to recognize carryforward from
previous year's earned interest and estimated current year interest earnings in the Supervisor of
Elections Grant Fund (081).
CONSIDERATIONS: The Division of Elections receives federal Help America Vote Act
( "HAVA ") funds for voter education and outreach activities, and then distributes these funds to
the Supervisors of Elections across the State. These funds, and any matching funds provided by
the County, must be placed in separate accounts and accounted for individually. Collier County
is the recipient of HAVA funds and the purpose of this executive summary is to recognize the
carry forward and the interest earned in the Supervisor of Elections grant fund (081).
FISCAL IMPACT: Revenue is being recognized in the amount of $146.44 with $106.44 being
appropriated from carryforward and $40.00 being appropriated from interest in Supervisor of
Elections Grant Fund (081), 2011 Federal Election Grant (44027).
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been reviewed and approved by the County
Attorney's Office, is legally sufficient for Board action and only requires a majority vote for
approval —SRT.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: None
RECOMMENDATION: That the Collier County Board of County Commissioners authorizes
the Chairman to approve the budget amendment recognizing $146.44 of carryforward earned
from previous year's interest and estimated current interest earned in the Supervisor of Elections
grant fund (081).
