P R O C L A M A T I O N
WHEREAS, the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Miami under the
leadership of Director General Philip T.Y. Wang, is the
representative office for the Republic of China (Taiwan) in
Florida; and,
WHEREAS, the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office Miami’s jurisdiction
includes Florida, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Bermuda,
the Bahamas, and the Turks and Caicos Islands; and,
WHEREAS, in addition to providing consular services, the Taipei Economic and
Cultural Office in Miami is committed to improving political,
economic and cultural relations between Taiwan and Florida; and,
WHEREAS, during his tenure Director General Philip T.Y. Wang was
instrumental in facilitating the extraordinary humanitarian effort
by the Tzu Chi Foundation and the Foundation’s empathetic
response to Collier County and its most needy in the aftermath
of Hurricane Irma; and,
NOW THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of
Collier County, Florida, with great gratitude for the
extraordinary work done by the Taipei Economic and Cultural
Office in Miami, under the leadership of Director General Philip
T.Y. Wang.
DONE AND ORDERED THIS 8th Day of May 2018.
