EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to authorize a budget amendment in the amount of $66,177, transferring funds
from Project 80360 Community Park Assessment (306) to Project 80381 Community Park -
Artificial Turf (306), enabling the division to capture all the expenses for design and construction of
the field under one project number.
OBJECTIVE: To complete design of artificial turf field at Eagle Lakes Community Park.
CONSIDERATIONS: The Park and Recreation Division determined there is a need to provide athletic
fields that can be used year-round. Converting natural turf fields to artificial turf will provide year -round
use of the fields. The division contracted a firm to design an artificial turf soccer field at Eagle Lakes as
part of the Community Park Assessments and has determined that it is feasible.
The Public Services Department has determined that it is feasible to construct an artificial turf field at
Eagle Lakes Community Park, and would like to move the funds for design from the Community Park
Assessments project 80360 into project 80381 Community Park - Artificial Turf to more easily track and
capitalize both the design and construction costs of the new turf field.
FISCAL IMPACT: A Budget Amendment in the amount of $66,177 will reduce the Community Park
Assessments project 80360 and move the funding into project 80381 Community Park - Artificial Turf
within the Parks and Recreation Capital Fund 306. This action will result in no impact to the General
Fund.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no Growth Management impact.
LEGAL CONSIDERATION: This Item has been reviewed by the County Attorney, raises no legal
issues, and requires majority vote for approval. -JAK
