Agenda 01/24/2012 Item # 5An 1/24/2012 Item S.A. 1 _rlq to recognize Amy Patterson, Manatger- Impact Fees &. Economic Development, Growth Management Division as the Supervisor of the Year for 2011. OBJECTIVE: To recognize the efforts and accomplishments of a supervisor who has made significant contributions to the organization or to our community. CONSIDERATIONS: Amy Patterson has been selected as the "Supervisor of the Year" for 2011. Amy was selected by committee from a pool of candidates nominated throughout the year. All employees who supervise two or more employees and receive -an overall annual performance evaluation rating of exceed expectations or higher are eligible to be nominated for this annual award. Amy has been an employee of the County for over eleven years. Since starting with the County in 2000, she has worked her way up to become the Impact Fee and Economic Development Manager. In her position, she is responsible for managing the County's Impact Fee program, Economic Development program and a staff of six employees. She works closely with both the Productivity Committee and the Development Services Advisory Board, and regularly presents studies and updates to them. She has established sub - committee meetings with developers and members of the construction industry to go over changes for impact fee studies. She is also responsible for monitoring the current legislative session to keep abreast of any changes that pertain to impact fees. Additionally, Amy is recognized nationally as an authority on impact fees and has been invited to speak at the National Impact Fee Conference several times. Amy effectively manages a section of highly productive employees. In a time of diminishing intemal resources her staff never fails to meet their commitments. She leads by example, and as such, her employees are always knowledgeable, helpful and composed when meeting the demands of their customers. Amy cares about getting things Torte right the first time, providing efficient and effective service to the business community and most importantly, cares about her employees. She is an indispensible leader who possesses a wealth of knowledge, skills and experience. Amy is truly deserving of the title "Supervisor of the Year." FISCAL IMPACT: The selected "Supervisor of the Year" receives a $250.00 cash award. Funds for this are available in the Human Resources Budget for this program. GROWTH MANAG ACT: There is no growth management impact associated with this Executive Summary.
