EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to accept funding from the Collier County 4 -H Clubs Foundation Inc. in
the amount of $45,000 for the 4 -H Outreach Program managed by the Collier County
University of Florida/IFAS Extension Department, $3,000 in anticipated revenue from
private contributions of 4H Outreach participants, and to approve a budget amendment in
the amount of $48,000.
OBJECTIVE: To accept funds in the amount of $45,000 from the Collier County 4 -H Clubs
Foundation Inc. and $3,000 in anticipated revenue from private contributions for outreach
coordinators and the enhancement of outreach activities of the Collier County University
Extension 4 -H Program.
CONSIDERATIONS: During the 2001 budget process, financial support from the Collier
County 4 -H Clubs Foundation Clubs Inc., a non - profit organization, was first recognized to assist
in funding of the programs within the Collier County University Extension 4 -H Youth
Development Program. Since that time funding from the Collier County 4 -H Clubs Foundation
Inc. has been used to assist in outreach coordinator salaries and has put into operation outreach
educational activities in school, after school and within many Collier communities. This year's
request will be used for the continuation of the 4H Youth Development Programs. In addition,
the County anticipates approximately $3,000 in revenue from private contributions based upon
historical data.
FISCAL IMPACT: The budget amendment of $48,000 recognizes $45,000 in revenue from
the Collier County 4 -H Clubs Foundation and $3,000 in anticipated revenue from private
contributions of 4H Outreach participants and appropriates associated expenditures. Grant
activity will be maintained in the Public Services Grant Fund (709), 4 -H Outreach Program
(33181). Expenditures based upon the private contributions will be made only after receipt of
said funding.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT• There is no Growth Management Impact.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been reviewed by the County Attorney's Office,
requires majority vote, and is legally sufficient for Board action. — CMG
