EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to recognize FY 2013/2014 State Public Transit Block Grant additional revenue
in the amount of $907,341 and authorize all necessary budget amendments.
OBJECTIVE: To receive operating funds for Collier Area Transit system.
CONSIDERATIONS: On October 16, 2012, Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT)
executed a multi -year Joint Participation Agreement (JPA) Contract Number AQQ 16 with the
Board of County Commissioners. This agreement is for the State Public Transit Block Grant
funding and it is due to expire on December 31, 2017. Collier County applies this grant funding
towards the operating costs of Collier Area Transit.
On November 4, 2013 Collier County staff has received notification from FDOT of additional
funding for Contract Number AQQ 16 in the amount of $907,341.00 for FY2013/2014. The
required 50% match of local funds is shown in the FY2013 /2014 operating budget.
FISCAL IMPACT: A budget amendment is required in FY 2013/2014 in the amount of
$907,341.00 to the Collier Area Transit Grant Fund (424) Project 33234. It should be recognized
that the State Public Transit Block Grant requires a 50% local match each year and this match is
budgeted within Collier Area Transit Grant Match Fund (425) funded by Gas Tax.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item is approved as to form and legality, and requires
majority vote for Board approval; —SRT
GROWTH MANAGEMENT 114PACT: There is no Growth Management Impact associated
with this Executive Summary.
RECOMMENDATION: To authorize all necessary budget amendments recognizing
additional revenue received from State Public Transit Block Grant in the amount of $907,341
and approve the Notification of Additional Funding for execution by the Chairwoman.
