EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to approve a budget amendment in the amount of $4,229.47 and
recognize revenue generated from case management and case aid from the Medicaid
Waiver program.
OBJECTIVE: To recognize revenue generated from the Medicaid Waiver program and record the
related budget amendment.
CONSIDERATIONS: The Medicaid Waiver program includes an agreement between Collier County
and the Area Agency for Aging of Southwest Florida (AAA) dba Senior Choices of Southwest Florida to
accept referrals for case management and case aid. This program enables elderly participants to receive
case management services from Collier County Services for Seniors qualified providers in Housing,
Human, and Veteran Services with the oversight of the quality of care by the Medicaid Waiver Specialist
employed by AAA. These services are authorized in order for participants to remain independent and
avoid premature nursing home placement.
Collier County in some situations provides case management services under the Medicaid Waiver
program and is reimbursed directly from Medicaid. The County has received $4,229.47 in
reimbursements for the period of 06/01/2013 through 09/30/2013. To properly segregate these
reimbursements the Medicaid Waiver Budget (Project 44646) is proposed to be amended to reflect the
receipt of these monies.
FISCAL EWPACT: A budget amendment is required to recognize reimbursement revenue received in
Fund 123 Services for Seniors, Medicaid Waiver Project 44646, in the amount of $4,229.47. This
revenue is currently a component of Fund (123) Services for Seniors un- appropriated Carry Forward.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item is approved for form and legality and requires a majority vote
for Board action.-JAB
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no growth management impact from this
recommendation.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the necessary budget amendment to recognize Medicaid Waiver
revenue included in Fund (123) carry forward.
