�1/HEREAS, the Florida Fire Chiefs' Association (FFCA) has served chief fire executives since its
establishment in 1958, expanding its membership to any individuals involved in fine and
emcrgewwy maces in 1993; and,
WHEREAS, the FFCA is Flomda'r leading management education organization for fire and
emergency services professiowls, helping members maintain and develop their
mom
gament and kadership skills; and,
WHEREAS, the FFCA Fire Chief of fire Year Award, the most important honor the Florida fire
service can bestow upon one of its chief fire executives, was conceived to recognize
tmlY outstanding fire chiefs whose acts and deeds in their profession, hom,
communfly and country serve as an example and chalknye for all other chief fire
executives ffirKy out Florida; and,
WHEREAS, Chief Kinpnan Schuldt, fire chief for Me joint East Naples d "den sate Fire
Control Rescue Districts, was recognised as the 2013 PAZA Fire Chief of the Year,
and,
WHEREAS, Chief Schuldt is a thirty -five year veteran of the fire service and currently serves
as an 04#unct faculty member of &Mward College, First Vice President for FFCA and
Florida Statue Director for the Smrtheastamo Association of Fire Chiefs; and,
WHEREAS, he has responded to nwnemus large scale disasters throughout the gulf regivn and
served as Technical Advisory for the International Association of Fire Chiefs
Intrastate Mutual Aid System program, nw * nng with several state leadership teams
to develop statewide disaster response plans; awed,
WHEREAS, Collier County is proud to be the home of Chief Schuldt and hawred that he is a
recognized as a kader in his field.
NOW THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissiomers of Collier County,
Florida, that November 12, 2013 be desimated as

in recogrritran of his 2013 Florida Fire Chief of the Year Award.
