Agenda 10/08/2013 Item #10C 10/8/2013 10.C. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Appointment of member to the Historical/Archaeological Preservation Board. OBJECTIVE: To reappoint one member to the Historical/Archaeological Preservation Board for a term to expire on October 1, 2016 and re-advertise the at-large position. CONSIDERATIONS: On May 26, 2009, the Board of County Commissioners adopted Ordinance No. 2009-33, which relocated and readopted the Historic/Archaeological Preservation Board Ordinance in its entirety as a stand-alone ordinance in the Collier County Code of Laws and Ordinances. This seven member board is vested with the power, authority, and jurisdiction to designate, regulate, and administer historical and archaeological resources in Collier County, under the direct jurisdiction and control of the Board of County Commissioners. Membership is composed of members from the following categories: a. history; b. archaeology; c. Real Estate, land development, or finance; d. architecture; e. law or urban planning; and, f. Two positions will be filled by citizens at large. Terms are three years. A list of the current membership is included in the backup.
