EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Appointment of members to the Golden Gate Beautification MSTU Advisory Committee.
OBJECTIVE: To reappoint two members to the Golden Gate Beautification MSTU Advisory
Committee to terms expiring on October 6, 2017.
CONSIDERATIONS: The creation of this five member committee was confirmed by Ord. No.
87-78, as amended by Ord. No. 96-50 and 96-51, with its purpose to advise and make
recommendations as to the beautification and maintenance of landscape improvements within the
road right-of-way as described by ordinance boundaries. The committee shall prepare an
itemized budget of the amount of money required to carry out the business of the committee for
the next fiscal year. Precincts are 323, 324, 325, 326, 327 and part of 322. Terms are four years.
A list of the current membership is included in the backup.
The expiring terms were advertised and applications were received from the following interested
citizens:

recommendations for reappointment, reappoints two members, and directs the County Attorney
to prepare a resolution confirming the appointments.

The Golden Gate Beautification MSTU has received and reviewed two applications by the prescribed
deadline for its two vacancies. The Applicants were evaluated based on the potential contributions to the
Committee. Both applicants meet the criteria required to be eligible for the committee and reside within
the MSTU's district boundary.
Patricia Spencer whom lives in Precinct# 326, has served in this committee for 10+years and has 1
absence. Margaret(Peggy) Harris,whom lives in Precinct#323 has served in this committee for 7+
years and has 5 excused absences. The Committee recommends both Patricia Spencer&Margaret
(Peggy) Harris for Re-appointments.
