EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to approve a budget amendment recognizing $1,715.08 of State Housing
Initiatives Partnership(SHIP)interest income and carry forward from fiscal year 2010/2011.
OBJECTIVE: To recognize interest revenue and SHIP FY 10/11 program carry forward funds and to
amend the budget for the state fiscal year 2011/2012 SHIP program.
CONSIDERATIONS: On July 7, 1992, the William E. Sadowski Affordable Housing Act was signed
into law providing additional funding to local communities in order to promote and advance affordable
housing initiatives. Funds are generated through documentary stamp tax on real estate transactions. Under
the SHIP program, Collier County and the City of Naples receive State funds and each allocation can be
expended over a three year period.
HHVS identified interest revenue that was not previously recognized in the amount of $1,114.97 and
$600.11 in carry forward program funds that must be applied to Fund 791, 33198, detail provided in table
below:

This budget amendment is being presented now due to the recently completed SHIP FY 2010/2011 Close-
out Annual Report that established the final carry forward amount figure of$600.11 to be allotted towards
the subsequent SHIP FY 2011/2012 funding year allocation.
FISCAL IMPACT: SHIP Purchase Assistance funding in the amount of$1,715.08 will reside in SHIP
grant fund 791, project 33198 and will be funded from SHIP grant fund 191 carry forward and interest
income. Funds will be used to continue SHIP Down Payment Assistance program and $55.75 can be used
for Admin expenses.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: No legal issues are raised by this item which requires a majority vote
for Board action.—JAB
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: Approval of this item will facilitate the goals set forth in the
Housing Element of the Growth Management Plan.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve and recognize the SHIP FY 2011/2012 revenue in the amount of
$1,715.08 and associated budget amendment.
