EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to approve a Resolution authorizing the Chairwoman to execute a Local
Agency Program Supplemental Agreement with the Florida Department of Transportation
in which Collier County would be reimbursed up to $138,629 for development of a
comprehensive pedestrian system through construction of sidewalks on Bayside Street,
Calusa Avenue and Caledonia Avenue.
OBJECTIVE: To obtain approval of a Resolution authorizing the Chairwoman to execute the
attached Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Local Agency Program (LAP)
Supplemental Agreement to expand and develop a comprehensive pedestrian system that
provides safe and convenient methods of non vehicular transportation by constructing sidewalks
on Bayside Street, Calusa Avenue, and Caledonia Avenue with funding assistance in the amount
of up to $138,629 from an FDOT LAP Agreement grant.
CONSIDERATIONS: On November 29, 2012, the FDOT and Collier County entered into a
LAP agreement, wherein FDOT would reimburse Collier County up to the sum of$138,629 for
the construction of sidewalks on the west side of Bayside Street, the south side of Calusa
Avenue, and the south side of Caledonia Street. The supplemental agreement is necessary due to
a change in the sidewalk location on Caledonia Avenue. The sidewalk location was changed
from the south side to the north side due to drainage modifications made on the south side.
FISCAL IMPACT: There is no fiscal impact associated with this executive summary. This is a
revision of the sidewalk location and the agreement amount will remain the same. Funds have
been previously appropriated in Transportation Grant Fund(711), Project 33207.
The estimated useful life of sidewalks is 30 years with minimal to no repair cost during that
duration of time.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item is approved as to form and legality, and requires
majority vote for Board approval.—SRT
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no Growth Management Impact associated
with this Executive Summary.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners approve and execute a LAP

A RESOLUTION BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS, COLLIER
COUNTY FLORIDA,APPROVING,AND AUTHORIZING ITS CHAIR TO EXECUTE A
LOCAL AGENCY PROGRAM SUPPLEMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE
OF FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR SIDEWALKS ON
BAYSIDE STREET,CALUSA AVENUE,AND CALEDONIA AVENUE.
WHEREAS, the State of Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT)and Collier County entered
into a Local Agency Program Agreement(the"Agreement")on November 29, 2012, wherein FDOT agreed
to reimburse Collier County up to the sum of$138,629 out of an estimated $154,663.39 total project cost
for sidewalks on the west side of Bayside Street from US 41 to the Shadowlawn Elementary School, the
south side of Caledonia Avenue from Andrew Drive to Airport-Pulling Road,and the south side of Caledonia
Avenue from Andrew Drive to Airport-Pulling Road;and
WHEREAS, FDOT and Collier County wish to amend the Agreement by entering into the attached
Supplemental Agreement to correctly reflect the project limits; and
WHEREAS, execution of the Supplemental Agreement is in the best interests of the citizens of
Collier County.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
OF COLLIER COUNTY,FLORIDA,that:
1. The Board of County Commissioners approves, and authorizes its Chairwoman to sign,the attached
Supplemental Agreement.
2. The Collier County Clerk will forward a certified copy of this Resolution to FDOT along with the
Supplemental Agreement for execution by FDOT.
3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED after motion, second, and majority vote favoring same, this
day of September,2013.
