EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Appointment of members to Rock Road Improvement MSTU Advisory Committee.
OBJECTIVE: To appoint two members to the Rock Road Improvement MSTU Advisory
Committee to terms to expire on July 26, 2016.
CONSIDERATIONS: On June 14, 2011, the Board of County Commissioners as the
governing body of the Rock Road Improvement MSTU approved an amendment to Ordinance
No. 2006-56 amending the geographical boundaries of the MSTU and created an advisory
committee to meet semi-annually. The Committee is to consist of three members who generally
represent the area within the MSTU. Members of the Committee shall be appointed by and serve
at the pleasure of Board of County Commissioners. Two (2) members shall be permanent
residents within the MSTU and electors of Collier County. One (1) member may be an owner of
residential or commercial property within the MSTU or an appointed representative of a business
located within the MSTU and an elector of Collier County. An owner of residential or
commercial property may be an individual, an officer of a corporation, or a partner of a
partnership. The Board of County Commissioners shall consider appointment of members from
different parcels, subdivisions and/or the communities within the MSTU. After the initial
appointment, terms will be three years. A list of the current membership is included in the
backup.
The vacancies were advertised and resumes were received from the following interested

COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION: There is no committee recommendation because the
committee has been unable to meet due to the lack of a quorum.

GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: NONE
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners considers the
recommendations for appointment, appoints two members, and directs the County Attorney to
prepare a resolution confirming the appointments.

The three member committee was created on June 14, 2011 to aid and assist the Board of
County Commissioners in providing and maintaining roadway improvements, which may include
