EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Appointment of members to the Black Affairs Advisory Board.
OBJECTIVE: To appoint one member to the Black Affairs Advisory Board to a term expiring
on June 25, 2014 and to reappoint one member to a term expiring on June 25, 2017.
CONSIDERATIONS: The Black Affairs Advisory Board has two terms that expired on June
25, 2013 and one term expiring on June 25, 2014. This nine member committee identifies and
evaluates problems unique to the Black Community, reviews and recommends ways to ensure
open communication between the minorities and Collier County Government and provides
periodic reports to the Board of County Commissioners. A list of the current membership is
included in the backup.
The vacancies were advertised and resumes were received from the following interested citizens:

RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners considers the
recommendations for appointment/reappointment, appoints/reappoints two members, and directs
the County Attorney to prepare a resolution confirming the appointment/reappointment.
