EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to authorize a budget amendment in the amount of $700,000 to fund future
wastewater projects along Vanderbilt Beach Road, Logan Boulevard, Santa Barbara Boulevard,
and East Tamiami Trail under "Wastewater Force Main Technical Support," Project No. 70044.
OBJECTIVE: Reallocate wastewater project funding within Fund (414) to align with critical
priorities needed to meet demand and stay in compliance.
CONSIDERATIONS: On June 24, 2008, as Agenda Item IOG, the Board of County
Commissioners (Board) adopted the 2008 Wastewater Master Plan Update that identified the
requirement for improving the force main transmission system. Project 70044, "Force Main
Technical Support," is consistent with the 2010 Wastewater CIP Update, page 2 of 4, line 56, as
identified in the 2011 User Fee Rate Study.
Funding will be used for future force main projects along Vanderbilt Beach Road, Logan
Boulevard, Santa Barbara Boulevard, and East Tamiami Trail, among others. All future
procurements with these funds will be made in accordance with the county's Purchasing Policy.
FISCAL IMPACT: Funding is available in, and is consistent with, the FY13 Capital Budget
approved by the Board on September 20, 2012. The source of funding is the Wastewater User
Fee Fund (414). A budget amendment is required from Project 70043, Fund (414), in the
amount of$700,000.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been reviewed and approved by the County
Attorney's Office,raises no legal issues, and requires majority vote for approval. -SRT
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: This project meets current Growth Management Plan
standards to ensure the adequacy and availability of viable public facilities.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners, Ex-officio the Governing
Board of the Collier County Water-Sewer District, authorize the necessary Budget Amendment
to transfer funds in the amount of$700,000 from Project Number 70043, Gravity Transmission
System Technical Support, to Project Number 70044, Wastewater Force Main Technical
Support.
