PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, internal auditors he/p their organizations meet their objectives by monitoring risks
and ensuring controls in p/ace are adequate to mitigate those risks; and,
WHEREAS, internal auditors are a corporate governance cornerstone and he/p their
organizations comply with new legislation and regulations for enhanced governance;
and,
WHEREAS, the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) is the acknowledged leader in
certification, education, research and technological guidance for the profession
with more than 175,000 members worldwide; and,
WHEREAS, the Southwest Florida Chapter of IIA includes Collier, Lee Charlotte, Hendry and
Glades counties and seventy-seven members; and,
WHEREAS, the IIA has designated the month of May, 2013 as Internal Auditors Awareness
Month to honor the dedicated members of this field.
2W THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of Collier County,
Florida, that May 2013 be designated as
INTERNAL AUDIT AWARENESS MONTH
