EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Recommendation to approve and execute the document necessary to convey an easement on County property at the Collier County Landfill, located at 3730 White Lake Blvd., Naples, FL, to FP &L. OBJECTIVE: To convey an easement for installation of electric infrastructure installed on County property. CONSIDERATIONS: On October 9, 2012, approval was given by the Collier County Board of County Commissioners (Board) under Agenda Item 11 E (changed from 16C1) to proceed with the construction of the Household Hazardous Waste building (HHW). Within the projected scope of work, the project included the installation of a new electric line and transformer. An Easement to Florida Power & Light Company (FP &L) for the installation of electric lines and fiber, including, but not limited to, conduit, poles, and transformer box, is required. The easement area measures a total of approximately 642 square feet more or less, and is shown and described on Exhibit "A" to the Easement. The County will not be compensated because the Easement is a requirement for FP &L to provide the facilities necessary for the completion of the HHW. A location map is attached for reference. FISCAL IMPACT: The total cost for recording the Easement will not exceed $27. Funds in the amount of $27 are available in the Solid Waste Capital Improvement fund 474 under Project No. 59005. LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been reviewed by the County Attorney's Office, is legally sufficient and requires a majority vote for approval. - ERP GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: The Collier County Landfill is inventoried in the Collier County Growth Management Plan. There is no impact to the Growth Management Plan by the conveyance of this easement. RECOMMENDATION: That the Board approves the Easement, authorizes the Chairwoman to execute the aforementioned document, and directs the County Manager or his designee to proceed to follow all appropriate closing procedures and record the aforementioned document in the Public Records of Collier County, Florida.
