EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Appointment of member to Library Advisory Board.
OBJECTIVE: To appoint one member to the Library Advisory Board to a term expiring on
December 31, 2016.
CONSIDERATIONS: The Library Advisory Board has one vacancy representing
Commission District 5 for a term expiring on December 31, 2016. This five member board acts
on behalf of the Board of County Commissioners to establish policies of the Library Department
including, but not limited to, policies relating to materials acquisition and circulation, collection
development, and eligibility of individuals for library services. They also act in an advisory
capacity to the Board of County Commissioners for all Library Department issues regarding the
establishment of fees, the budget, capital planning, staffing levels, and other library related
programs. Terms are four years. A list of the current membership is included in the backup.

in the Social Work,Bereavement and Community Outreach field.As of 2004 I have been
assigned to the Immokalee area as an end of life care liaison to the community.As a member of
Avow Hospice Critical Incident team I have provided grief support to various community
organizations and individuals in Collier county.In my decade of employment with Avow I have
served on community boards such as the Immokalee ITECH advisory board; Immokalee Weed_
and Seed committee; CCSO Human Traficking committee and Minority Task Force . I have also
been a member of the Immokalee Interagency and served 3 terms on the Collier County
Education Foundations Golden Apple selection committee.

I held an Associate Vice President position for a very large not for profit Health Care and Case
Management HIV and Aids organization in Western New York where I was employed from
