EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to appoint three members to the Animal Services Advisory Board.
OBJECTIVE: To appoint three members to the Animal Services Advisory Board to fill current and
pending vacancies.
CONSIDERATIONS: This 7-member board was created on January 27, 2004, by Ordinance No. 2004-
06 to make recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners on programs, services, classes and
special events that will further assist Collier County Domestic Animal Services in providing the best
possible service to the community. They also analyze and review construction and improvements to
Domestic Animal Services facilities and make recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners
regarding such facilities. A list of the current membership is included in the backup.
Ms. Patrice Worcester resigned in February 2018. There are two additional seats on this committee which
will expire on April 13, 2018. The vacancies were advertised and applications were received from the
following:

ATTENDANCE: Ms. Baker has had no unexcused absences in the past two years. An email describing
her attendance is included in the backup.
COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION: At its regular meeting on March 20, 2018, the committee
unanimously voted to recommend that Ms. Davis, representing the Humane Society, be appointed to fill
the remainder of a currently vacant term which shall expire on April 13, 2020; that Mr. Rheaume be
appointed to a four-year term expiring on April 13, 2022, as a member At -Large; and that Ms. Baker be
reappointed to another four-year term expiring on April 13, 2022, in the category of Pet Retail. A
recommendation memo is included in the backup.
FISCAL IMPACT: None.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: None.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners adopts the Committee
Recommendation, and directs the County Attorney to prepare a resolution confirming the appointments.
