P R O C L A M A T I O N
WHEREAS, the State of Florida is dedicated to improving air
quality, reducing traffic congestion, promoting health
and physical fitness, and reducing energy consumption;
and,
WHEREAS, the Florida Department of Transportation, District
One, through its Commuter Services Program,
contributes to these state goals by reducing traffic
congestion and lowering greenhouse gas emissions
throughout the region by promoting the use of
alternative commute modes; and,
WHEREAS, the Collier County Board of County Commissioners and
Collier Area Transit (CAT) are promoting “Try Transit
Day” on April 20, 2018, to raise awareness of our
destinations and routes; and,
WHEREAS, CAT will offer free rides on “Try Transit Day” to
encourage residents and visitors to use public transit.
NOW THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County
Commissioners of Collier County, Florida, that April 20,
2018, be designated as
TRY TRANSIT DAY IN COLLIER DAY
DONE AND ORDERED THIS 10th Day of April 2018.
