P R O C L A M A T I O N
WHEREAS, the Children’s Advocacy Center of Collier County has been
dedicated to reducing the trauma to abused and neglected
children for more than 30 years; and,
WHEREAS, the Children’s Advocacy Center of Collier County is the county’s
only immediate response facility for young victims of physical or
sexual abuse, serving more than 2,200 children per year; and,
WHEREAS, the Children’s Advocacy Center of Collier County also provides
counseling to families of these young victims to strengthen their
ability to provide a safe environment; and,
WHEREAS, April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month and on April 13,
2018, the staff of the Children’s Advocacy Center of Collier
County and its Child Protection Team will plant a garden of 2,200
pinwheels - the symbol of Child Abuse Prevention - in the sand
at the Naples Pier, representing all the children served each
year; and,
WHEREAS, the Collier County Board of Commissioners fully supports the goal
of a community where child abuse is not tolerated.
NOW THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of
Collier County, Florida, that April 13, 2018, be designated as
CHILDREN’S ADVOCACY CENTER DAY
IN COLLIER COUNTY
DONE AND ORDERED THIS 10TH DAY OF April 2018.
