ALLISON President and CEO Retired Chairman and CEO, BB &T I'm writing to invite you to a Cato Institute seminar and luncheon on Wednesday, January 30 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Waldorf Astoria in Naples. The event will feature P. J. O'Rourke, America's leading political humorist; Charles Murray, W. H. Brady Scholar at the American Enterprise Institute; and moderated by our chairman Bob Levy. It should be an outstanding program, and I hope your schedule will allow you to join us. As Cato's new president, I am delighted to have this opportunity to introduce myself and share my thoughts on the future of limited government. I'll also briefly discuss the topic of my recently published book, The Financial Crisis and the Free Market Cure, which explains the events leading up to the financial crisis and how government regulations have made matters worse. Next well hear from Charles Murray, who is one of the nation's leading political scientists and social policy thinkers. Charles is sure to deliver a compelling talk on the proper role of government. At lunch, we are pleased to have Cato H. L. Mencken research fellow P. J. O'Rourke. With his trademark humor, P. J. will share his always sharp insights on the overall state of American politics. He'll deliver a provocative discussion on President Obama's second term and the likely response by Congress. All in all, it should be an enlightening and thought- provoking seminar and luncheon. This event is an excellent opportunity for you to learn more about the Cato Institute's activities promoting individual liberty and limited government. We hope you'll be able to join us at the Waldorf Astoria in Naples on Wednesday, January 30. Cordially, 5 John A.
