EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to recognize carry forward from accrued interest in the amount of $388.17 from
State Aid to Library Grants revenue and appropriate those funds for expenditures on library
materials, services, and equipment.
OBJECTIVE: To recognize accrued interest and unused funds to appropriate for expenditures on library
materials, services, and equipment for the use of Collier County residents.
CONSIDERATIONS: Each year the Collier County Public Library is awarded funds through the State
Aid to Library Grants. The most recent grant was approved by the Board on September 9, 2014 — Agenda
item 16D16. These grants require the CCPL to provide the public with free library services, including
loaning library materials and providing reference and information services. Funds are advanced and
therefore accrue interest. The State allows for the rollover of unexpended funds, including interest, to the
next year's grant for County expenditure. Interest in CCPL Grant Funds 710 has accrued to a balance of
$388.17 from July 1 through September 30, 2014. Staff is seeking Board approval to recognize and
appropriate this accrued interest and grant revenue in order to expend the funds.
FISCAL IMPACT: Budget amendments are required to recognize a total of $388.17 for accrued interest
within State Aid Projects 33030, 44024, 33005, 33152, 33254, and 33324 in Public Services Match Fund
710 Project 33360.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: None.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been reviewed by the County Attorney, raises no legal
issues at this time, and requires majority vote for approval. -JAK
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners approves the necessary budget
amendment to appropriate carry forward from accrued interest through September 30, 2014 in the amount
of $388.17.
