EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to approve the necessary budget amendments to reflect estimated funding for the
Calendar Year 2015 Older Americans Act Programs (Net Fiscal Impact $807,677).
OBJECTIVE: Provide uninterrupted support services to Collier County Services for Seniors' frail,
elderly clients.
CONSIDERATION: The Older Americans Act (OAA) Program is a federal initiative that provides
assistance to older persons and caregivers and is the only federally funded support services program
directed solely toward improving the lives of older persons. OAA funds are received by Collier County
through the Area Agency on Aging of Southwest Florida, Inc.
The current Standard Contract for the OAA Programs will end on December 31, 2014. Historically, the
County's Services for Seniors Program receives continuation agreements during the latter part of
December for the upcoming grant cycle. When the agreement is received it will be presented to the Board
of County Commissioners, in conjunction with any necessary budget amendments to reflect any changes
from the estimated allocation. The grantor has estimated that funding will be equivalent to the current
CY14 funding allocation.
Approval of these budget amendments will reflect funding for CY15 in the amount of $807,677, which
includes required match, and authorize continued payment of expenditures under the aforementioned
programs. The OAA programs require local matching funds in the amount of 10% of the program*

GROWTH MANAGEMENT: There is no growth management impact from this recommendation.
FISCAL IMPACT: Budget amendments are required to recognize estimated grant revenue of $726,908
for the CY 15 OAA Program to Human Services Grant Fund (707), Projects 33401 (3B), 33403 (Cl),
33404 (C2), and 33405 (3E). Local match is available through prior year excess revenue in Human
Services Grant Fund (707) Reserves.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been reviewed by the County Attorney raised no legal
issues at this time, and requires majority vote for approval. -JAK
