EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation that the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) acting in its capacity as
the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Board approve a budget amendment to the
Collier County Community Redevelopment Agency - Immokalee (CRA) Fund (186) budget
that reestablishes funding for the CRA's Commercial Facade Improvement Grant
Program in the amount of $20,000 to cover a previously approved grant commitment.
OBJECTIVE: That the CRA amend the FY 2015 budget of the Collier County Community
Redevelopment Agency - Immokalee CRA Fund (186) reallocating $20,000 from reserves to
fund a previously approved $20,000 grant commitment relative to the CRA Commercial Facade
Improvement Grant Program.
CONSIDERATIONS: In FY 2013 the CRA approved a grant funding Agreement for Kountry
Kitchen in the amount of $20,000 in accordance with the CRA's Commercial Facade
Improvement Grant procedures. The grant was to be paid to the recipient on a reimbursement
basis upon completion of construction improvements to the commercial restaurant structure. At
the end of FY 2014 the budget expired sweeping the unexpended $20,000 into CRA Fund (186)
carry forward /reserves.
The project has reached completion following grant program guidelines and the applicant is
requesting reimbursement. A budget is required to reimburse the applicant. Accordingly, staff is
requesting approval of a budget amendment that reestablishes the unexpended $20,000 budget.
FISCAL IMPACT: At the end of FY 2014, unexpended funds for the CRA's Commercial
Facade Improvement Grant Program, for $20,000, were swept into CRA Fund (186) carry
forward /reserves. The requested budget amendment will reestablish the Facade Grant budget in
Immokalee CRA Fund 186 - 138324- 884200.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been reviewed by the County Attorney, raises
no legal issues, and requires majority vote for approval. -JAK
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: None.
RECOMMENDATION: That the CRA Board approves a budget amendment reestablishing the
Immokalee CRA's Commercial Facade Improvement Grant Program budget.
