EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to approve a Transportation Coordination Agreement with Easter Seals Florida,
Inc.
OBJECTIVE: To assist in the transportation services for those individuals receiving services from Easter
Seals Florida, Inc.
CONSIDERATIONS: Easter Seals provides a myriad of services to disabled individuals and their
families. Collier County is the Community Transportation Coordinator (CTC) responsible for
coordinating transportation services within the County. Easter Seals, Inc. has requested that Collier
County, as the CTC, enter into a Transportation Coordination Agreement to support their use of Federal
Transit Administration Section 5310 grant funds. The grant funds awarded to Easter Seals, Inc. are to be
utilized to purchase a vehicle that will transport individuals who attend their programs. The agreement
formalizes the information required by Easter Seals, Inc. on an annual basis. Information to be provided
includes the annual operating report which the CTC is required to submit to the Commission for the
Transportation Disadvantaged (CTD), and the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) required drug and
alcohol testing verification.
FISCAL IMPACT: No Fiscal impact is associated with this action.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: Transit capital and operations supports goals and objectives of
the Transportation Element of the Growth Management Plan.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been reviewed by the County Attorney, is approved as to
form and legality, and requires majority vote for approval. -JAK
RECOMMENDATION: To approve the execution of the Transportation Coordination Agreement with
Easter Seals, Inc. and authorize the Chairman to sign the Agreement.
