EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to recognize Becky Erickson, Accounting Technician, Facilities Management, as
the Employee of the Month for September 2014.
OBJECTIVE: The purpose of the Employee of the Month program is to recognize the efforts
and accomplishments of employees who have made significant contributions to the organization
and to our community.
CONSIDERATIONS: Becky Erickson, Accounting Technician, Administrative Services
Division has been nominated as the Employee of the Month for September 2014. She
has been an. employee of the County for 15 years.
Becky works in the Construction & Capital Projects section of Facilities Management working with
the financial aspects of new buildings and renovation projects. When an employee in the
Maintenance Services section left to take a position in a different department Becky volunteered
to take on most of the responsibilities for the position. She took on the payroll, budget reporting,
invoice & requisition processing in addition to her regular responsibilities. V11ith her knowledge and
skills she has insured that the transition has been completely transparent, and she accepted the
additional work and responsibilities as the very hectic end of the fiscal year approached!
With Becky's help, the department has been able to avoid the expense of a temporary employee,
and she will be able to facilitate the training of a new employee when the position is filled
permanently.
Becky's commitment and dedication to her department and coworkers is admirable and greatly
appreciated, and is why she has been chosen as Employee of the Month
FISCAL IMPACT: The selected "Employee of the Month" receives a $150.00 cash award.
Funds are available in the employee's Budget Cost Center.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no growth management impact associated with
this Executive Summary.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners approve$ the recognition of
Becky Erickson as "Employee of the Month" for September 2014.
