PRO CLAMA TION "'�YEREAS, The Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts Genera/ Hospital Home Base Program helps post 9111 veterans and military families heal from the "invisible wounds ",of war including post traumatic stress, traumatic brain irk jury, anxiety, depression, military sexual trauma and family relationship challenges,: and WHEREAS, the Home Base Program has provided treatment or support to more than 1, 0100 Iraq and Afghanistan veterans and their families since 20109; and WHEREAS, the Home Base Program is one of the only private sector clinics in the nation dedicated to healing the "invisible wounds" of war for returning Iraq and Afghanistan veterans and their families; and WHEREAS, Home Base is providing free training to over 11, 000 doctors, nurses, psych01091sts and social workers all across the country — including Florida —to recognize and treat the invisible wounds of war, and WHEREAS, the Home Base Program is engaged in national research to improvae treatment for post traumatic stress and traumatic brain injury; and LIEREAS, Southwest Florida is an extension of Red Sox Nation and the residents of our community are committed to improving the health of post 9111 veterans and their families through the Warrior Health and fitness Challenge which is generously supported by residents of our community, - Florida Gulf Coast University, and the Naples and fort Myers Vets Centers as well as the VA Healthcare. NOW THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of Collier County, Florida that a grateful Board recognizes the Home Base Program and its mission to heal the invisible wounds of war for post service members, 9111 veterans and their families.
